For the five years I've been active in the schools and in Natick politics, mostly behind the scenes, several issues have driven my efforts: connecting, challenging kids, and building community. As a member of the School Committee, the body that, with guidance from the professionals it hires, sets policy for the Natick Public Schools, I would be a voice urging growth in these issues. |

Appropriate rigor and enrichment in academics and the arts, and appropriate challenge for different kinds of learners have been issues I've worked on for five years, both through the Natick Education Foundation -- of which I've been Co-President for three years -- and on my own. A great community has a strong commitment to its schools, and I'm not just talking about money. Caring about the future of the next generation is unbreakably tied to caring about senior citizens, to caring about how people make ends meet, open space, and more. Natick faces a number of needs, including a new High School. So what's the next step? Please click for more information. |
